SUPPLIES TO BRING

Children will need to bring 2 boxes of 16 basic Crayola® crayons (no large or jumbo-size crayons) with them when they are enrolled.

If your child is enrolled for afternoon care (enrichment), they should also bring the following when they are enrolled (with their name on each):

  • A KinderMat® to sleep on (no sleeping bags or roll-up mats)
  • OPTIONAL: A small travel-size pillow
  • OPTIONAL: A blanket (no larger than 42 inches square)

BACKPACKS

Children need to bring a backpack with their name on it to school each day. It must be easy for them to open and large enough to easily fit papers into. This lets them take their work home with them and allows us to occasionally send out important notes or paperwork for parents, such as party announcements or forms to purchase school pictures. Please check your child’s papers each day to help you stay informed about what is going on at school.

PACKING LUNCHES

If your child is enrolled for afternoon care (enrichment), they will need to bring a lunch and drink with them to school each day. Please ensure that your child’s name is on their lunch box and thermos, if they bring one. We ask that you follow these guidelines when preparing lunches:

  • Use ice packs. We have limited refrigerator space.
  • If food needs a spoon or fork, please include one.
  • We have a microwave for reheating, not for cooking.
  • No uncooked frozen dinners or mac and cheese. You may cook it at home and we will reheat it.
  • If something needs to be heated, place it in a microwaveable container. Please do not place things to be heated and things to be eaten cold in the same container.
  • No sodas in thermos, cup, etc. (they leak). Sodas in the original container are okay.
  • Put drinks in the lunch box if they will fit. Please do not put drinks in your child’s backpack. We do not check backpacks.

These may seem trivial, but it helps us tremendously. We have approximately 30 lunch boxes to open and meals to prepare each day.

WHAT CHILDREN SHOULD WEAR

Dress your child in play clothes—things they are comfortable wearing, allow them to be active, and are easy for them to handle in the bathroom. We do assist children when they need help. Please be mindful of the weather and dress your child accordingly. Children are given time to play outside on our playground when the weather permits. If your child wears a jacket to school, please ensure that their name is on the jacket.

SPECIAL OCCASIONS & BIRTHDAYS

We have parties at school for Halloween, Christmas, and Valentine’s Day, and also hold an Easter Egg Hunt.

NOTE: Please do not bring cupcakes!

We also celebrate birthdays at school. You may bring treats for the class on your child’s birthday and a small favor to take home after the party. Please let us know your plans in advance so we can coordinate in case other children have a birthday on the same day. Check with our teachers for the number of children in the class.
